Name
[edit]Untitled
[edit]"The name "Kentucky" itself means "meadow lands" in several different Indian languages and was specifically applied to this region, only becoming a name for the entire state much later. Europeans named the Bluegrass Region for the blue flowered Poa grass that grew there[citation needed]" I grew up in Kentucky and have lived here my entire life. This is the first and only place I've ever seen either of these 'explanations'. Citations definitely needed! --Mari Adkins 18:49, 5 February 2013 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by MariAdkins (talk • contribs)
Name Origin, I'm confused
[edit]The article on the Kentucky Blue grass plant seems to indicate that the plant is not native to North America. How, then, did the region get the name? Feldercarb (talk) 19:19, 4 January 2022 (UTC)
